John M. Connolly
John M. Connolly received his law degree from Queen’s University in 1971. He articled in Toronto and was called to the bar in 1973. John is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. He has considerable experience in all of Ontario’s trial and appeal courts, in the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also acted as counsel in arbitrations, before administrative tribunals, and in alternative dispute resolution processes.
Outside of his professional duties, John is a dedicated family man and a tireless contributor to the community. He was the first chair of the Institute of Mental Health Research and was chair of the board at the Royal Ottawa Hospital Foundation. In addition, John has served as president of Vision Canada, president of the Ottawa West Federal Liberal Association, and president of the Seminary Students Aid Society of Ottawa.
